I Enrolled in Blogging U

I am not quite sure if I am proud or embarassed at this point. I came across an ad, article, or email this morning and it pointed me to Blogging University. I thought, ‘Why not?’

And what does it say in my first lesson on my first day: For bonus points, publish your goals in a new post! Tag your post with #bloggingbranding

Three Goals for OnTheGoWithGreg

  • Publish two times each week during the next 6 months
  • Publish at least one blog per month that teaches a specific Fulltime RVing Lesson
  • Become confident in my Blog Posts and share them with my family and friends.

In case you are wondering why I don’t have goals such as gain more followers, increase hits, or be seen at the top of Google Search, it is because this Blog is not about gaining followers or about making money. This blog is about me…and my journey (& Greg of course)!

The first lesson started with answering questions about what I want to accomplish. Here are my notes:

  • Why do you blog?
    • As a journal – to get the thoughts out of my head and into some sort of action
    • As a plan – to keep on track, know what still needs to be done and see how much I have accomplished
    • As a motivator – to keep me honest, if I tell someone I am going to do something, it is more likely to happen, than if I keep it to myself
    • To share my lessons learned and knowledge with others. My mom once said that a great teacher is just a student who has taken the time to learn more than others and share what they know.
  • If your blog exceeded your wildest dreams, what would that look like?
    • How many followers would you have?
      • I would be followed by my closest friends and family, so they can be a part of my journey.
      • I would be followed by the Top Tech Nomads and we would share each others stories.
      • I would be followed by others who are considering becoming Fulltime RVers before their retirement years
    • How often would you post?
      • I would post about 2 to 3 times a week
    • What would your blog do for you?
      • Keep me on track
      • Keep me honest
      • Help me make new friends
      • Help me keep up with old friends and family
      • Help me make good Fulltime RVing choices

I should warn you, there are 9 more lessons in this first course 🙂
